Ah, yeah. William “Bootsy” Collins is a favorite of my son’s and mine. All either one of us has to say is “on the one” and the other will bust into some variation of “ahhh, it’s Bootzilla, baby.”
This was the bass legend’s second solo album after successful runs with James Brown and Parliament. JB and George Clinton, that’s like a funk master class. Actually, it is a funk master class.
Ahh…The Name Is Bootsy, Baby! is a very common album, so you should be able to pick up a copy for next to nothing. Mostly I just wanted to share that bad ass gatefold sleeve with you. Sure, it looks like the painting on the side of a carnival ride or a seventies Chevy van, but that’s what makes it so cool.

He visited U. of Montana in the mid-90s. First time I’d heard of the dude or his music. I may have been the only sober person in the venue but I enjoyed it as much as everyone else.
