My Dating Game story didn’t turn out as good as I hoped, but that’s okay. That’s kind of how stories go sometimes: the initial thrill of the idea, the excitement of the execution, and the sad realization that this one isn’t going to work out the way you hoped.
That’s how a lot of dates go, too. The good news is that there’s plenty more of both stories and dates waiting for you, and there’s also the possibility that bad date/story won’t seem so bad in retrospect.
Besides, unlike a bad date I can always keep working on my Dating Game story. So there’s that.
Anyway, songs for dates:
“Dating Game Theme Song,” The Mariachi Brass featuring Chet Baker.
“First Date,” Danko Jones.
“Blind Date,” The Boomtown Rats.
“I Wish I Had A Date,” Fishbone.
“Datin’,” Elvis Presley.
“An Empty Cup (and a Broken Date),” Buddy Holly.
“Little Rosie (Dating Game Closing Theme),” Unknown (written by Chuck Barris).
There you have it: seven songs for that hot date. What did I miss? I’m listening.
