I bought this album at a friends of the library book sale for one reason: To impress the super hot hippie chick, Tuesday. It didn’t work, but nothing did.
I’m glad I bought it, though. Highway 61 is a great place to start if you aren’t into Dylan, and the back sleeve includes one of my favorite lost things — liner notes. Sweet, sweet liner notes. They still exist — in fact, there’s still a Grammy given every year for best liner notes — but come on, they just aren’t like they used to be.
Highway 61 Revisited has been in print forever, so there are many variations. That plus the perpetual interest in Dylan can push the value of an original mono printing close to $200, but a later printing in average condition will only run you five bucks. Happy hunting.
