The single greatest perk of being a music writer is having new music dropped into my mailbox. Sure, sometimes it’s painfully bad, but that’s okay. I’ll sift through some mine tailings if it means I may find a nugget or two.
We Are TheRiot’s three song EP, The Hollywood Demo Sessions, is definitely a nugget. These guys mix big hooks and boom boom bap drums with heavy riffs and the occasional growl. If you like your music heavy yet melodic you’re going to dig this:
