Okay, so my brush with Jack Nicholson was no more than directions to the nearest bathroom. It’s still Jack, come on!
None of the songs in my library are about that Jack, but I have plenty of Jack songs. Here are a few:
“Happy Jack,” The Who.
“Jack O’ Diamonds,” Odetta.
“The Jack,” AC/DC.

“Hit the Road Jack,” Ray Charles.

“Half Jack,” The Dresden Dolls.
“Jack in the Green,” Jethro Tull.
“Jack of All Parades,” Elvis Costello.
“Jack the Ripper,” Link Wray.

Response to “Deep Cuts: Songs For Jack”
If I had to pick my least favorite Who and AC/DC songs, “Happy Jack” and “The Jack” would be my picks. I’ve never liked those songs. “Hit the Road Jack” is a great one, and I also like Mellencamp’s little ditty, so I don’t think it’s the name Jack. Weird, but my skin almost crawls when I hear “Happy Jack”.
