I’ve done a few pieces for Loudwire over the last few months, but this is a whole new thing. Rather than concert coverage or an interview, the editors over there took a chance on the kind of essay that I write for Diffuser or here at Why It Matters.
I really like this one. I had the room to connect a bit of cultural history to music history, and tie a Tower Records bow around it. I worked in hot rods, the progression of portable music from AM radio to streaming, and Dio. What’s not to love?
