The Red Envelope

A red envelope filled with Sun gas, tied closed with White ribbon. It meant something to Someone, somewhere. For a moment it rose, Or maybe a day,  A week. Dancing in the currents Exuberantly  Until the Sun gas leaked away and Left the red envelope  Twisted in the weeds.

A red envelope filled with

Sun gas, tied closed with

White ribbon.
It meant something to

Someone, somewhere.
For a moment it rose,

Or maybe a day,

A week.
Dancing in the currents

Exuberantly
Until the Sun gas leaked away and

Left the red envelope

Twisted in the weeds.

Funny, for the last two days I have had no appetite, all I have wanted to eat is gun barrel, one would think that reading this would have made me even more hungry but instead it stopped the craving. So I don’t quite know how to say ‘what a beautiful piece of writing’ when all it did was stop my roaring starvation for a while. I guess maybe thanks?

Nicely done. But I do have one suggestion. Speaking as a 70 year old who has recently seen far too many obituaries for folks in their 60s, could you ease off reminders of the transience of life? I’m already maxed out on my antidepressants.
