Deep Cuts: Songs About Guitars

I don’t know much about this whole “get rid of everything that doesn’t bring you joy” fad, but I know this: When you find the guitar that suits you, you’ll know it.

You can put guitar in quotation marks, by the way. Whatever your area of interest–the right pair of running shoes, a home, a magic wand if you’re on your way to Hogwarts, a pogo stick–when you find the object that feels right, keep it.

Maybe that’s the “bringing joy” part of this year’s fad, I don’t know. I’m just glad to have my guitar back.

Anyway, guitar songs:

“My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama,” Frank Zappa.

“My Brown Guitar,” XTC.

“Little Guitars,” Van Halen.

“Guitar Man,” Elvis Presley.

“Guitar Girl,” Dada.

“The Guitar,” They Might Be Giants.

“Electric Guitar,” Talking Heads.

“Blue Guitar,” Heart.

There you have it: Eight songs about guitars. What did I miss, Lucille? I’m listening.
