A mix tape said something, in my case usually, “I’m a very desperate and horny kid, and this is what my idea of seductive sounds like.”

Yes, and that was the downside of the mix tape.  Often the message that you sent was not the message that you thought you were sending.

So, in that spirit here is a pass at what might be the world’s worst mix tape.  Think you can make one that’s worse?  I’m listening.

“Old MacDonald,” Elvis Presley

  • Message intended:  Aren’t I ironic and clever?
  • Message received:  I’m either a stunted adolescent or a pedophile.

“Creep,” Radiohead

  • Message intended:  I’m a hipster.
  • Message received: I’m a creep.

“Fat Bottomed Girls” Queen

  • Message intended:  I rock!
  • Message received:  You have a big ass!

“Mother,” Pink Floyd

  • Message intended:  Pink Floyd is, like, awesome.
  • Message received:  I’m a mama’s boy.

“Da Butt,” EU

  • Message intended:  I want to dance.
  • Message received:  I want to do the butt.

“Look At Your Game Girl,” Charles Manson

  • Message intended:  I’m so cool I know where to find rare nuggets.
  • Message received: I’m a serial killer.

“All By Myself,” Eric Carmen

  • Message intended: I don’t want to be all by myself.
  • Message received: I don’t want to be all by myself.

I think that there may one more subliminal message in a Morrissey/Abba mix tape. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
