Time to unload another one of the picture discs that I purchased as an investment because I was an idiot. I bought this one with my Starship Records manager’s discount. I probably only paid about five bucks, so the rectal stinging I feel writing this isn’t due to a fiscal loss.
No, what makes my ass hurt is that I hate this record. Def Leppard’s magnum opus was modeled on Michael Jackson’s Thriller, if you can believe it. The idea was to make an album that included nothing but hit singles, and the result is such a wishy-washy hunk of milquetoast that I’d sooner listen to a Mutt Lange lecture on the making of a hit record than this piece of shit.
But hey, if you like it that’s cool.
And so in the name of being a “collector” I supported one of the most hideously cynical albums ever unleashed on music fans. If you want one for your stacks, expect to pay in the $20-$30 range. Happy hunting.
