Collecting Pearl Jam bootlegs is kind of, well, odd.
Pearl Jam had in common with the Grateful Dead a very fan friendly policy on audience recording, so lots of crowd bootlegs are available. More importantly, for the last 15 years they’ve made official recordings available of every show. That means you can get sound board recordings of every show since 2000.
That still leaves the earlier gigs, though, so if you want to hear the band live and in their prime the bootleg route is still the way to go. Below are photos of some of the PJ boots lurking in my stacks. Want your own? Expect to pay 5-10 bucks each, or poke around online. There’s a very active Pearl Jam bootleg community out there. Happy hunting.
