Aftershock 2015: Helmet

Helmet’s set wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t an Aftershock highlight.

I’m not sure what was off here. Their midday time slot didn’t seem appropriate for a band of their stature. The mix — as was true of all of day one’s earlier main stage bands — was a bit muddy. The band’s energy seemed a bit low.

But listen: I don’t want to beat the guys up. Helmet on an off day is better than 99% of bands on a good day, and it was great to see them live.
