Deep Cuts

Deep Cuts: Songs for the Beautiful People

Beautiful People

Here’s the big mistake I made as a younger man:

I failed to be one of the beautiful people. The beautiful went to interesting places with other beautiful people and had beautiful people casual sex after a bunch of beautiful people cocktails and drugs. During the day they went to beautiful people jobs that led to better beautiful people jobs, or they didn’t have jobs at all because, after all, they were beautiful people. They even wore beautiful underwear.

I don’t know what the hell I was thinking, not being a beautiful people. They seemed to be having so much fun.

Anyway, here are some songs from my personal playlist about those weaselly rat bastards:

“I’m a Beautiful Guy,” Frank Zappa.

“The Most Beautiful Girl (in the Room),” Flight of the Conchords.

“Sadly Beautiful,” The Replacements.

“Beautiful People,” Melanie.

“The Most Beautiful Girl,” Charlie Rich.

“Beautiful Girls,” Van Halen.

“Beautiful Delilah,” Chuck Berry.

“Big Girl (You Are Beautiful),” Mika.

“The Beautiful People,” Marilyn Manson.

Okay, you beautiful people. What songs did I miss? I’m listening.
