Eating an elephant might be tough, but a playlist of elephant songs? Not so much. I didn’t think I had enough songs in my digital playlist to flesh out a playlist, but I even had a couple leftover. I didn’t even have to resort to trunks, long memories, and umbrella stands. No Dumbo or “Baby Elephant Walk,” either.
Who knew that musicians had such a fondness for elephants?
“Elephant Talk,” King Crimson.
“Elephant,” Tame Impala.
“Elephant Gun,” David Lee Roth.
“The Elephants Graveyard,” The Boomtown Rats.
“Elephants,” Pete Townshend.
“Elephant Ghost,” Colonel Claypool’s Bucket Of Bernie Brains.
“Elephants,” Them Crooked Vultures.
“Southbound Pachyderm,” Primus.
“Jumbo Go Away,” Frank Zappa.
There you have it: Eight songs about the elephant in the room. What did I miss? I’m listening.
