Even if we’re out of shape, we can outrun a lot of things: snakes, alligators, wiener dogs. If we work for delivery companies we’re pretty adept at outrunning customers, which is great for our ding dong ditch scores.
But we can’t outrun our shitty childhoods. Those scars run deep, and while therapy, religion, denial, or self awareness might fade them a little bit they’re always there.
So if you have kids, work with kids, know kids, or happen to randomly pass a kid, treat them well, please. Otherwise, they’re likely to turn into depressed adults–or alcoholics, narcissists, sociopaths, CEOs, or politicians. They might even become writers, and nobody wants that for their children.
Anyway, running songs:
“Running Scared,” Roy Orbison.
“Running To Stand Still,” U2.
“Running on A Treadmill,” Oingo Boingo.
“Keep Running,” Tei Shi.
“Running Away,” The Specials.
“Running,” The Fixx.
“Madman Running Through the Fields,” Dantalion’s Chariot.
“Running Back,” Thin Lizzy.
There you have it: Eight songs about running. What did I miss? I’m listening.
