I won’t let my plum tree go without a fight. I’m not much of a plant propagator, but I plan on harvesting a few seeds and trying to grow a new tree. Sure, it might not bear fruit but that’s not the point. I’m a sentimental sort.
Anyway, songs about fruit:
“Come Bite the Apple,” Mother Love Bone.
“Strawberry Letter 23,” Shuggie Otis.
“Cherry Red,” Groundhogs.
“Banana Juice,” The Mar-Keys.
“Peaches,” The Stranglers.
“Watermelon In Easter Hay,” Frank Zappa.
“Sweet Pear,” Elvis Costello.
“Lemoncholic,” Stripmall Architecture.
There you have it, eight delicious songs that put the lime in the coconut. What did I miss? I’m listening.
“Strawberry Fields Forever” – The Beatles
“Grapefruit – Juicy Fruit” – Jimmy Buffett
“Big Apple Dreamin” – Alice Cooper
“One Bad Apple” – The Osmond Brothers
“Little Green Apples” – Roger Miller
“Blueberry Hill” – Fats Domino
“Orange Crush” – R.E.M.
“Cherry, Cherry” – Neil Diamond
“Orange Blossom Special” – Johnny Cash
“Coconut” – Harry Nilsson
