Yes, this album cover really happened.
But as bad as that sleeve is, the record itself is pretty cool. Released in 1975, Sometimes Words Just Get In the Way is a bizarre mix of easy listening and psychedelia, from the Ron Burgundy jazz flute of their instrumental take on “I Shot the Sheriff” to their pretty jumpin’ version of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
Admittedly, I bought this one for its brilliantly bad album cover, but it gets time on my turntable. If you like instrumental cheese played well, you’ll want a copy of your own. This is a dollar bin record, but even at five bucks it’s worth your hard earned money. Happy hunting.
