Deep Cuts: Supernatural Songs

My grandmother, the ghost.

That’s a pretty cool idea, and many people in my family have their own stories of visits from Brooksie. But are they really tales of the supernatural? Probably not. Guilt, desire, loneliness, dreams, memory–countless logical explanations exist for our ghostly visitors. Besides, if the supernatural exists then it’s perfectly natural and thus not supernatural, right?

Anyway, supernatural songs:

“Supernatural Superserious,” R.E.M.

“Supernatural Thing, Pt.1,” Ben E. King.

“The Supernatural,” Peter Green Splinter Group.

“Origin of Supernatural Probabilities,” Tangerine Dream.

“Superunknown,” Soundgarden.

“Paranormal,” Alice Cooper.

“Afterlife,” Todd Rundgren.

“Weird Nightmare,” Elvis Costello.

There you have it: Eight songs for your spirit in the material world. What did I miss? I’m listening.
