Deep Cuts

Deep Cuts: Snow Songs

The west coast of the United States experience some pretty unusual weather over the last week. Well, it’s not unusual for most of the country, but ’round these parts we don’t see a lot of snow. The storm that wreaked havoc on Oregon and Northern California holiday travel has moved inland now, so you’re welcome Chicago!

Anyway, snow songs:

“Six Feet of Snow,” Little Feat.

“Sand Castles in the Snow,” Public Image, Ltd.

“Snow Blind,” Styx.

“Footprints in the Snow,” Bill Monroe.

“Winter Snow,” Booker T. and the MG’s.

“Snowman,” XTC.

“Snow Don’t Fall,” Townes Van Zandt.

“After the Snow,” Modern English.

There you have it: Eight songs for that pure white stuff. Book ’em, Dan-O! What did I miss? I’m listening.
