Deep Cuts: Pressure Songs

Have you ever been under so much pressure that you thought your head would pop? Work, home, money, politics, climate, holidays, traffic–it can all be too much now and then.

So what’s a guy to do? Play some tunes. And medicate. Medication helps.

“Too Much Pressure,” The Selecter.

“Pressure Pressure,” Mink.

“Pressure Zone,” Beck.

“Pier Pressure,” Teisco Del Rey.

“Inner City Pressure,” Flight of the Conchords.

“Chant No. 1 (I Don’t Need This Pressure On),” Spandau Ballet.

“Pressure Drop,” Toots and the Maytals.

“Pressure and Time,” Rival Sons.

There you have it: Eight songs for when you’re watching some good friend scream “let me out.” What did I miss? I’m listening.

  1. I know it is not a Deep Cut, but my mind immediately went to Queen and Bowie, “Under Pressure” – I made myself watch it, because it is so hard to believe that those two giant talents are now gone, and with that knowledge this video just gutted me again.
