So yeah, butterflies were my mother’s thing.

I used to see them everywhere and think, “Oh, Mom would like that.” Now that she’s gone I think, “Oh, Mom would’ve liked that. Same thing, just one step to the right. It’s true for all of her interests. Last weekend I dropped by a charity book sale and found myself looking for Parent’s Magazine Press books, the imprint my mother collected. I can’t remember ever visiting a used book sale where I didn’t keep an eye out for those books. That’s just how these things go, you know.
